This. 82% could average either a 6/10 or a 9/10. The movie is fairly inoffensive but nothing special, so it falls on the first category, rather than something like Thunderbolts, that holds a lower RT score but was more critically appraised on average.
I don't believe that many people LOVED the movie, it seems like that because the people who watch on preview days are die-hard fans and they're dominating the conversation online. We'll see how it does with general audiences soon.

Can only laugh at all the snyderjeets who are in mass damage control, absolutely seething about this. I don't even have a horse in this race but their constant spamming about how it's SO OVER for this film for the past month leading up to it has been annoying.

Reviews and awards are just advertisement these days anon. Borrowed prestige to enhance sales. Even festivals have been contaminated lately. Ten years ago premiering capeshit at a festival would have been unthinkable. Ten years from now you´ll see shit like this rise with the awards as if they were real movies.

They kind of take it too far sometimes though. As you said, it is just not plausible for Superman fans to like this version. Not only Superman´s been sent to Earth with a dubious agenda but he´s also been publicly "humanized", which completely ruins the mysticism that gives heroes their iconic value. He can´t be a guiding light that leads both heroes and the progress of mankind if there is reasonable ground to doubt him.

Not that current comics are doing any better by him though. Contemporary writers seem to have some sort of brain rot going on.

The people who had strong enough feelings to leave a review were inevitably going to be the die-hard fans of Superman who at least liked the movie.

I thought it was good. But I was disappointed that it really lacked a good core theme, point, or message. The movie's core plot barely if at all revolves around the themes it's trying to convey, leaving it mostly just a big spectacle.
It's still well done, but as a dude who actually reads comic books, especially Superman, I know plenty of Superman comics which are better and more meaningful that should have been adapted instead of making this film.

I went to see it at Silverspot in miami and there was one family of white argentinians and 2 groups of niggers
I missed a bunch of the dialogue at the end because the 2 groups of niggers got bored about half way through and started messing with each other, throwing popcorn and giggling
overall everyone seemed relieved that it ended
like 14 people on a friday night. theater had capacity for about 130 (it was the imax)
