I hope it gets better in teh second series becuase there wasn't really anything hooking me in; I watched out of curiosity and because I had the spare time, but there wasn't anything that really stood out. I might have even forgotten about the show by the time season 2 comes out

The show only got good in the final episode. The rest of it was waiting for the show to get good. Most of characters are stupid and annoying and don't make sense. They are supposed to be some do gooder hippies but then they just act retarded.
My favorite part was when the creepy ugly blonde woman got her head gibbed. I'm so glad they didn't drag out her nonsense. But then the team was mad at secbot for protecting them, screw those people.
Murderbot needs to be slightly less of a cringe metaphor for self-diagnosed autistic plebbitors. He spends too much time being awkward and self-conscious for an android.

a very odd series because there is no outright villain (which is usually this kind of shows thing) funny, moving ... it's like common side effects (which i think is the best of this season) where it's a strange show that is good because of how different it is

I'll be honest, initially I thought Mensa was going to be an awful character and I admit it's mainly because I thought the actress looked ugly. But she really won me over, nailed the whole super kind naive hippy who's actually in charge of the super kind naive hippy federation.
Everyone else in the scientist crew felt superfluous and that includes Gurathin. It's like they gave him a character at the end just because he's apparently in future books/seasons.
