It diverged a lot from the game but I think that's in part due to the fact that the show is going to outpace the game and have original material at the end of season 3 and in seasons 4+. Also Bella Ramsey is ugly but other than that it was good.

IDK this is just the first thing that came up when I googled the last of us. Anyways another thing that I took issue with was the costume design. Everyone looked way to prim and proper, and this was especially apparent because the set design was incredible. The world looked aged and faded, being reclaimed by nature, so the clean neat clothing felt out of place.

I meet with fellow nerds of all stripes every weekend IRL and scores of people who loves the first one hated it.
Metzen - somehow - managed to make it worse and Ramsay is awful, but the story itself remains both bad and poorly executed. Whereas I've heard maybe a dozen people in my life say a bad thing about TLOU1 or season 1, about half the people I know who care hated TLOU2 and all of them disliked season 2.
Indeed, everyone I know from boomers to zoom zooms who watched the show either really disliked season 2 or just stopped watching it halfway through.
Again, people are allowed to like TLOU2 or even like season 2, but the people who like it *have* to come to grips with the fact that scores of people hated it. It's not just online.
