It's all downhill from there, but entertaining. Still I think 5 and 7 are quite ok, and 6 has some good bits. 8 sucked as a final season but since it isn't final anymore it ain't that bad. The entire season is full of insane shipping of characters, Robo cop appears and is amazing in every scene, the Mickey Mouse, along with tons of funny shit.

The ending is absolute complete and utter fucking bullshit and made it to where I dropped season 6 and only started in season 7 again, but if you ignore that and the massive plot holes and decline in quality due to loss of great characters, yea it's a "good" season if you like turn you brain off.

I was kinda expecting it to go a new direction where now that Dexter, the big shot Miami Police Forensics tech applies to work at the NYPD now that he has his old identity back and the police experience that goes with it.

I think that would be a dope way to move the series on a few more seasons, he works on the inside in this new modern world to help cover up he & his son's murders, a few close calls, some main plot serial killer antagonists. It would do well if they pulled it off right.

I was under the impression they killed off Hannah because Clyde hated her character. I mean it's clear that he dislikes the character almost as much as the audience did because she didn't get any flashback or ghost treatment at all. Dexter is caught. The trial goes for 2-3 episodes, and ends with Dexter being obviously guilty but walking free anyway because of Jury nullification

The very final episode deals with the fallout of everyone now knowing that Dexter is the BHB and is internationally (in)famous. As a side effect of this, he is basically incapable of actually doing any more killings since he's too recognizable now. He gets a job as an official executioner, traveling from prison-to-prison as the one who injects the lethal dose.

The final scene shows the back seats of a car with newspaper clippings about a guy who has escaped justice after several murders. The camera moves to show Quinn in the driver's seat, on a stakeout observing the guy in the newspaper photos. Harrison opens up the passenger door, gets in, and hands Quinn a coffee while taking a sip of his own. They see the suspect taking a drunkard to his car. Harrison says "tonight's the night", to which Quinn nods and readies a syringe. The end.
