Gen X is. The majority of what gets called reddit humor is just old gen x style jokes being reused.
They are also responsible for a lot of the faux edge in such humor. For example, people getting enraged over irrelevant shit like pineapple on pizza is an extremely reddit thing and something that originated with gen xers trying to be edgy while being terrified of actually offending the establishment.

I am Gen X and can accept that, our humor is basically James Gunnian if you will but pretty much is like offensive-safe Boomer humor. Its really simple if you think about our influences like Airplane, SNL, Daily Show, Blazing Saddles, Kids In The Hall, raunchy sex comedies, Waynes World, Austin Powers. So then you have someone who grew up with that stuff and they have to make comedy guess what its going to be a little edgy, stupid and lowbrow. The last time we were ever truly edgy and cool was when we made Rules Of The Internet but to today's standards (hurr durr Rule 34) is probably highly lame to zoomers but oh well.
