For better or worse, George Lucas was trying new stuff. Now, new isn't always good, but what other movie would have Jar Jar give Palpatine emergency powers?

It's stylistically designed to be that way and you can't undo that. And we can't diminish the effects of it.

well lets see.
10/10 sound effects and OST
many great vehicle / ship / character designs
visually diverse locations and some amazing outfits
the rough overarching story is a fine concept and still holds up in the starwars cannon.
anyone who watches these films will remember them, there are few that have such passion and attention to detail.
there are more things wrong with them and a sad waste of potential but that not what you asked

"stay away from the power couplings!"
*gets zapped*
"that was good!"

stuipd dialogue, that whats memorable
also that cool troop transporter ship was designed with big opening doors so that padme could fall out of it as she would not work as part of the dooku fight

The same people that said episode 1 was "confusing" and "hard to understand" are now all "experts" on how tarriffs are evil. George was just ahead of the game and filtered a lot of people, but a lot of people can now see the genius of his vision for the prequels.
