I remember liking this movie when I was 10.
But I rewatched it and it just doesn't hold up. It's very mediocre.
>>212641919 (OP)It's chock full of great scenes. And then there's the rest of it.
Yeah it's mid af despite the cast and depalma and soundtrack
noooo, i just got it on blu-ray. I thought it was at least as good as say, Dick Tracy
>>212641919 (OP)10 year old you was based, current you is gay and he'd think you're cringe
>>212641919 (OP)2 hours of killing Italians is always based
>>212641919 (OP)It’s cheesy as fuck, but has some charm for being a retro movie set almost 100 years ago
>Kevin Costner throws the guy off the roof
>this doesn't have any kind of repercussion on his character or the plot
This script needed big revisions.
>>212643322>>Kevin Costner throws the guy off the roofhe landed in a manure truck
>>212641919 (OP)Re-awaken your 10-year-old self then. the Untouchables is kino.
>>212643322Nobody's going to be asking questions about a gangster who fell off a roof after shooting one cop and trying to kill another.
Ultimately proving the American contention that the Scotch and the Irish are one people with no delineation or gradation utterly wrong, Sean Connery fails to pull off an Irish accent.
>>212643445I guess it would've been too demanding on the audience to have him be an Irish immigrant from Scotland?
De Niro just isn't believable as a mobster
>everyone knows that prohibition was retarded so they need to start the movie with Capone blowing up some random little kid to make the "heroes" look good
Corny ass bullshit
>>212643322also it's odd that they named that character after the real life Chicago gangster that ran the Chicago mob for 15 years after Capone went to prison
>>212641919 (OP)it's really boring
every scene is overwrought and overstretched
everyone is anonymous apart from connery
>>212641919 (OP)No one plays their character well except perhaps the nerdy dude.
