I love how this movie makes Clark an actual human being set in our world. Or as realistic as you can get it superman. Snyder incorporated the trepidation and fear aspects of how people would react to Clark upon seeing him. Something Siegel and Shuster themselves said he would probably face, being Jewish immigrants themselves and faced similar hate and fear when they were young went into the early inspirations for the character. I loved seeing Clark struggle with the weight of the world on his shoulders and the amount of expectations he would face being Superman. He's just a kid from Kansas trying to do the right thing. I like that he acts emotionally and makes mistakes. I love all the scenes of Clark saving people and the visceral action throughout the movie. An altercation between two Kryptonians would not be a gentle thing. It was like being a kid reading the John Byrne "Man of Steel" run or watching Superman and Justice League. The scenes with Jonathan Kent and young Clark, those scenes bring a tear to my eyes every time. I'm a big sucker for Pa-Kent and Clark dynamic and this version of them is my favorite. I love the morals the Kent's install in Clark while still being fearful for him If his secret ever gets out. Reminds me of all those years of watching Smallville. As someone who wanted Superman 2025 to be good and leaving that film disappointed, Man of steel is just the perfect Superman experience for me. He stumbles and falls but still rises up to be a beacon of hope. Thank you Henry Cavill and Zack Snyder for making this.
