Just saw Superman
Here is what I think about it
Overall 7.7 out of 10. It's pretty good, not amazing and not the greatest Superman film, but overall I found myself enjoying it most of the time and I found more things I liked about it than I disliked.

I liked these things
>Anti-Israel storyline with a really Jewish looking guy as a villain
>Krypto snarls at a black guy
>Mr. Terrific says "shieeet"
>Scenes with Lex Luxor and Superman held my attention well, both actors did a really good job
>Found myself really rooting for Superman and against Lex and hoping Lex will get what's coming to him
>Despite being a super powered alien, Superman felt really human. He has a family he cares about, a girlfriend he has fights with, an annoying dog he loves, and generally just wants to do the right thing as best as some super powered Kansas boy knows how.

Didn't like
>Portrayal of Green Lantern. He needed to be cooler.
>Parts outside of Superman and Lex felt a little forgettable/B-tier

I think Gunn kind of sucks at directing actors. So the actors that were already good, great actors did fine. Everyone else, who maybe would/could have done better with more direction were just OKto have their moments or actually awful. And that was most of the cast.

So like Wendell Pierce was great, Pruitt Taylor Vince was great, Nicholas Hoult was great. As in carried there scenes. Cornswet, I did not like. And I don't mean as Superman or he doesn't looks like Superman. I mean as an actor, he was not that good. And with Vince and Hoult it was glaring. With Nathan Fillion and Edi Gathegi it's glaring. And again, not all his fault I really do think more takes with better direction could have improved his performance.

I don't know, man it was super average. I didn't hate it. had some enjoyable moments but even the best non action scenes could have used a better director.

"Superman couldn't come, so you got the upgrade" is the best part of the movie
Also one of the better Guy Gardner adaptations

I struggled to follow what was going on in the final battle.
I don't know if It was the quality of my local screen, the fact that I watched the 3D version of it, maybe a need to go to the doctor to get my vision checked, or if it was just like dark, i had difficulty following what was going on the climax.
Thankfully Lux Luthor was screaming his combo notation so I could just look at dustloop to get the combo information.

Yeah that's fair. I think it felt like a James Gunn movie that isn't the first Guardians. Similar vibes to Creature Commandos or Suicide Squad 2021. Mediocre to pretty good, but never great.

8 felt too high but 7 too low. I think 7.7 felt fair without over or understating it.

>Guy Gardner
See, I didn't know who that was. If you told me the bowl cut was from a comic, I'd like it more. But I'm a Zoomer whose main experience with Green Lantern was black Green Lantern in Justice League cartoons and also Ryan Reynolds.

He's strongly Russian-coded, wtf do you even mean? The actor is a Slav(e), and he already played Russian in Triangle of Sadness.
