The script was written by the same guys who wrote T3 in the early 00s, with the aim of shooting it in 2003 with Vin Diesel as the lead.

This is the only one to do the future of the terminator universe in an interesting way. The fact that john isnt the big leader yet was a good way into it and the covert warfare made sense against the machines, rather than a big battlefield

I liked the early protypes having rubber faces then trying to infiltrate the resistance. I wish they would have shown more early to middle days of the war.

Salvation could’ve been an excellent two/three part film series that had each film escalate in warfare and technology until we got the ‘pew pew’ lasers scene we all know and love from T2. What we got was pretty good, but merely a shadow of what could’ve been.

The early terminator version with the rotting skin and heavy boots was scary as fuck. I don't really care for this movie otherwise but that's the one scene that I always come back to.
