That was a weird divergent storyline
>>212668002 (OP)The script was written by the same guys who wrote T3 in the early 00s, with the aim of shooting it in 2003 with Vin Diesel as the lead.
This is the only one to do the future of the terminator universe in an interesting way. The fact that john isnt the big leader yet was a good way into it and the covert warfare made sense against the machines, rather than a big battlefield
>>212668163The original ending was Connor dying but the Terminator being made to look like him and ending up as the real John Connor.
>>212668002 (OP)He tries so hard to be good but never crosses the finish line.
>>212668421People got up in arms about it but it's actually quite a powerful idea.
>>212668438It is an interesting subversion
>>212668185Pure unadulterated kino.
>>212668163I liked the early protypes having rubber faces then trying to infiltrate the resistance. I wish they would have shown more early to middle days of the war.
>WE WANT A TERMINATOR MOVIE THAT'S ACTUALLY SET IN THE WAR AND IS A GRITTY WAR DRAMA ABOUT HUMANS VS SKYNET
>But Terminator: Salvation came out i-
>NO THAT ONE FUCKING SUCKS AND IS TERRIBLE BECAUSE OF REASONS OR SOMETHING
This is why people deserve nothing good.

>In the original version of the script, Sam Worthington's Marcus Wright, who realizes he is a cyborg over the course of the story, is a creation of a group of humans led by Cyberdyne Systems scientist Serena Kogan, who have made efforts to transfer their consciousness to machines, which they believe is the next step of evolution. The so-called "transhumans" are the masterminds behind the new Judgement Day and would eventually merge their minds to create a collective neural network called "Skynet". In this version, John Connor is also killed by the machines and Wright volunteers to have his skin grafted onto his robotic endoskeleton to maintain the symbol of the Resistance alive so, in a twist, Skynet is "human" and John Connor is a machine.
>be the lead actor of the highest grossing movie of all time
>have pretty much no career outside of avatar
>>212668185>Record scratch>Now do you remember? Who you are? What you were meant to do? I cheated death, thanks to you. And thanks to you i'll leave my mark. You will too - you'll write your own history. You're your own man. I'm John Connor, and you are too... No... He's the two of us. Together. Where we'll be tomorrow? We'll build it. This story - this "legend" - it's ours. We can change the world - and with it, the future. I am you, and you are me. Carry that with you, wherever you go. Thank you... my friend. From here on out, you're John Connor.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pC3U2KIy8Iw
>>212668866>>212668964Something something the burden of being John Connor was too great for one person and John Connor is more of an idea than a man.
>>212668928In a hilariously fucked up way it makes a lot of sense if you remember that Bale's Connor is technically the same failure that Nick Stahl played in T3 and he's not really in charge the whole movie. It took a chad cyborg to actually lead humanity to victory, lol.
>>212670394I prefer to think that T3 doesn't exist
>>212669213They tried something new and daring. Now you'll never get anything like it ever again.
>>212668002 (OP)Salvation could’ve been an excellent two/three part film series that had each film escalate in warfare and technology until we got the ‘pew pew’ lasers scene we all know and love from T2. What we got was pretty good, but merely a shadow of what could’ve been.
>>212668002 (OP)Sam Worthington is a great actor and I'm tired of pretending otherwise, he's a talented version of Chris Pratt
>>212668684The early terminator version with the rotting skin and heavy boots was scary as fuck. I don't really care for this movie otherwise but that's the one scene that I always come back to.
