I no longer watch films with guns on the cover or poster and never caught it so the short answer is I don't really know how high the quality of the film is to be quite honest with you my anonymous friend on 4chan.

No, it feels like it goes no where. In The Thing, you have a mystery and problem solving, here Tarantino just wanted to write cool set pieces with homage to Carpenter. I think the biggest problem is the Lincoln letter, it's such a weak ending.

michael madsen was massively underused. Dern stole the show and Goggins kept it decent

I love it, but it loses me a bit when Tarantino begins narrating over 2 hours into the film and we jump back in time to show what is a relatively uninteresting flashback. Felt like there should have been a smoother way to handle that and Tarantino himself narrating it felt like it got up its own ass a bit.

Not to mention the extended cut nobody asked for which added nothing but piss scenes. I am not even kidding.

yeah, the narration is a clear tell that he just didn't know how else to properly continue the story at that point.

I feel like it would have been better if Joe Gage was innocent. I didn't like how every suspicious character in the cabin ended up being in on it

No. At this point it was painfully obvious what trajectory Tarantino's career went on.
It is one of the most predictable, boring movies I have ever seen, and it is not a hyperbole. Another unhinged revenge porn fantasy. QT can still write characters and dialogues but the entire movie is 'Yup, there it is.'

Good enough to have an opinion about it, not good enough to defend it. Should be a stage play.
