Why the fuck did James Gunn go out of his way to say the new Superman was liberal and political? I just got out of the theater and thought it was great. Very wholesome and virtually 0 poz. Something you could take a Christian family to

Its horribly paper thin fake. Gunn is the most deranged pedo sex obsessed freak to be directing a Superman movie. Its all jingling keys for retards

It's a fantastic movie, but it's definitely tinged with liberal themes (so is the source material)
>our decisions and actions define us, not our biological parents or ancestry
>it's better to be a boy scout than a badass
>very flattering portrayal of news journalists, more critical/even-handed with social media and TV personalities
>Lex Luthor is literally Elon Musk mixed with some other right-wing/tech influencers like Peter Thiel, Curtis Yarvin, Charlie Kirk, and Stephen Miller
>not full-blown leftist since Justice Gang is a commercial enterprise and they're mostly good
>basically endorses humanitarian inverventionalism against autocrats
>Superman + Justice Gang has some obvious NATO parallels
I agree with all this stuff and it's direct from the source material but it's also essentially the classical definition of liberalism as conceived by 1930s political thinkers.

Yeah but the movie being anti neoliberal is a problem. All it does is shit on it and then act like regular liberalism is any better even though itโ€™s an even bigger failure.

>anti neoliberal
>"Boravia will not be permitted to annex Jarhanpur. That's not a threat, or a boast, that's just the way it's going to be."
Superman basically has the same foreign policy as HW Bush, lol.

>โ€œI mean, Superman is the story of America,โ€ Gunn said. โ€œAn immigrant that came from other places and populated the country, but for me it is mostly a story that says basic human kindness is a value and is something we have lost.โ€ --James Gunn
Considering this is the attitude of the director, I really don't think I am. Superman could have had some Democratic staffers in the writing room and I would believe it lol.
