S2 was extremely disappointing and went overboard trying to maintain the mystery S1 had. It lost the plot and the ORTBO episode was the worst in the whole show.

S02 was in no way a followup to S01. S01 ended with the innies telling the truth to the outside world, no doubt the outies would have heard about it and no way would they have come back or at least there should have been something about them learning about it. It's as if the finale of S01 didn't happen, they just reset the story.
