Fuck this movie. For YEARS of my life, EVERYONE was hyping it up to me as the greatest piece of cinema ever filmed. Then my girlfriend forced me to watch it, beginning to end. This was the most boring trash I've ever watched in my entire life. IT IS LITERALLY JUST TWO GUYS TALKING AT EACH OTHER!!!

No one believes LARPers when they sneak this in and think just dropping it casually will not make people question it. You are a loser of a human being wasting his time on a Japanese otaku forum. You don't have a life. Get a grip.

it has been a while since i watched the film but i seem to recall that wallace eventually calls out andrre on his bullshit.
if you have been to university you had these types of conversations as a freshman and that is why the film is great it captures a very real type of experience people have and it captures it well.

thank for the reminder anon. i just checked my local theater and they have two plays worth watching in the upcoming season
>All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914
>Agatha Christieโ€™s The Mirror Crackโ€™d
unfortunately they have been sneaking more and more people of "color" and a fair number of the productions they put on in a given year are total garbage but occasionally you will get a Rodgers and Hammerstein or a Gilbert and Sullivan

Because more people will see it and its preserved unlike a stage play which only a few people will see and then it goes. If you're going to film a stage play, then you might as well build a basic set and employ some camera work. voila, you have a film that's just a two man play in a single room.

They actually had multiple dinners over the course of half a year, then spent a year making it into a screenplay, so the film probably has little in common with their first dinner. Plenty of goys are conceited enough to do the same
