Bro no they fucking weren't. I despised seeing them every single time they showed up because I just wanted to see Ash catch a new pokemon or battle a new trainer and didn't want to deal with their Rube Goldberg bullshit. The only times I could stand them were when they were in the movies and had an actual effect on the story.
Jessie was hot of course, but so were plenty of other trainers.
