You people over sold me on this movie. The trailer made me think I was going to get a lovecraftian story with the protagonist slowly losing his mind after dealing woth entities beyond his comprehension. Instead I got silly goofy 1950s but with magic.

When he died I went looking for something featuring him I didn't see and found this first. I got about ten minutes in before getting distracted. Most of that is my fault, but I've also always had an issue with voodoo related media and felt it was never interesting. I wanna play Shadow Man. I just don't care.

There's some cool cosmic horror scenes in it though

It's a fun supernatural urban fantasy movie. I'd never call it horror though. More like harry potter with fedoras. There's not too many of such movies so for a tv-movie especially it's good.

Another kind of similar tv-movie is the night flier. Really comfy stephen king slop. Oh and storm of the century miniseries is worth a watch too. These all goes to the same category in my head. I don't know what to call them but somewhere between a quality tv-show episode and a real movie.
