it is but it makes the story make more coherent sense since earlier in the film his mom complains about how she always had miscarriages

It doesn't really come off as misery. His mom gets to live a happy life with a normal child. It's a relatively normal time travel movie ending. It's better to not fuck with time at all.

the theatrical is a fine, bittersweet ending though. he walks away so he wouldn't fuck amy smart's life up any more, it works just fine. the womb ending was my preferred ending when i was younger but nowadays i lean towards the theatrical. it is much less bleak, and the final shot of them passing each other on the street and her briefly looking back is pure kino

This movie deeply disturbed me as a little kid. I was flipping channels and randomly caught the scene of the dog being burned. That scene haunted me for like 10 years. Ill never watch it

one your in solitary I never said anything about a death penalty, two prisoners aren't guaranteed a last wish and three a carving won't work if you could get a metal instrument which you can't those prisoners are given plastic eating utensils, oh and finally photographic memory is a myth it doesn't exist

For me it was him waking up with no arms.

Looking back, it's okay, but very basic in terms of philosophy.

The directors cut makes me laugh so hard. I had only seen theatrical ending and i torrented the movie which happened to be the directors cut unbeknownst to me. When the home video starts up with his mom pregnant i was like "Wtf, is he really going to-" and then my sides went into orbit when he actually goes back to himself as a fetus and strangles his own umbelical cord. Fucking lmao

its not about the morals its about the money you fool, if a single human could prove they actually have real eidetic memory they would be a millionaire at the bare minimum
