First generation to not have to watch broadcast TV, or old movies on VHS/DVD.
The younger ones grew up consuming youtube and twitch content on a handmedown ipad or phone. Never forced to engage with old content because the internet always has new slop to pump out to distract a 7yo, and they don't care about good storytelling in fiction because their basis for art is FNAF analog horror explanation yt videos.
Not to mention their parents seem to have been less interested in raising them than any previous generation. Who else would let pewdiepie raise their fucking kid for them?
