>>212700734 (OP)He was incredibly smug for a guy whose entire powerset is tied to his ring. So many comics have threats that instinctively go for the Lantern Corps' primary arm that you'd think the ring is virtually useless when worn on a limb that isn't connected to the user. You'd think there'd be like a mental or spiritual connection but, nope. Cut the hand off and it's useless unless the ring is put on another hand. Sever both arms and the Lantern and thus the ring is worthless. Can't wear it around your neck or slide it on a toe or modify it into some other accessory. Can't turn it into an earring--nothing. One and done.
So Guy acting like a big, visibly old rock star was kind of annoying. When he appeared in the sky and made a little box for the kid he was wide open. Not like Lantern's have 360 view. He's just this big fat target who never puts a barrier up and is entirely too cavalier. It's like he knows he has the power to have no one fire a gun at him so he doesn't have to actively do much of anything.
