I have a couch where you can chill on and a small budget hifi system to listen to some music. Isn't that enough? I really really despise having a TV. I mostly fill my time playing piano, listening to music, working out and reading. But I know girls all just watch netflix or TV in the evening.
Will I have trouble if a girl comes over if I don't have a TV? Is buying one unavoidable?

You don't have to use a TV to watch TV, tie it to your network and computers, have it play visualizations to your piano playing, use it to improve your life, or don't use it at all but it''s useful to have one around to be availible. It's the 21st Century and humans are accustomed to a screen that derives media and information in households. Logistically easy to place too with the same spatial fingerprint as a painting so should be adaptable to your situation without disruption.
