All movies and shows are brainrot. Think about it. This is all brainrot, and always has been. It's distracting. Rather than you living your life, experiencing things, being bored and doing novel stuff to fill the void, you fill the void with slop from your screen. Someone else's life, someone else's experiences. You weren't supposed to be able to scratch the itch with a virtual mimicry of life, you were supposed to live it. No one is doing anything of any value from all of the screen time they consume. Instead

>people stop doing important/interesting things themselves because they can be entertained by a screen and a fictional life
>people stop being satisfied with normal life because they are constantly blitzed with tall tales of glory and riches and heroism and how anything else is mundane and a failure

All the screen does is is prevent you from living your own life. It also denies you life's satisfactions by constantly filling your mental context with all of these other fictional and fantastical notions of what life should be. It's brainrot. The only thing that zoomer rot exposed was that this was always a big fucking joke. Cinema was a mistake.

Stories can convey life lessons or invite appreciation of different perspectives, which in turn can benefit your own life. A lot of entertainment certainly is slop, but I've had some movies and shows provide benefit when absorbed and considered

No one is learning anything and everything is consistently degenerating. No one is happy or satisfied with anything. Everyone is loaded to the gills with pills and therapists and notions of what "life should be" created by Jews and materialistic retards. This is all brainrot. You are deriving false senses of purpose and value from dogshit on a screen.

I would argue music is a much higher form of art, since it can be imbued into life. Shows/movies decouple you from life and break your mind. Music can complement life as it happens and is a natural product of our ecosystem. If you think about it all screen media is depressing. You're plugging into an alternate dimension and checking out of your own.

The way I'm approaching it is. With the rise of short-form "brainrot" content, there's this popular notion now that there is good screen media and bad screen media. That the great movies and shows we had in our day were higher art that inspired better things and developed the mind more healthily. I'm proposing that all short form did was expose that this was always bugbrained dopamine shots that did nothing other than depress and distract.

How is one supposed to be happy with a normal life, a family, kids, house, job, typical "boring" community, when they are constantly hammering their brain with lofty notions of what the goal is? Of what "others" are doing out there? You weren't supposed to do that. You were supposed to make the best of what you have right in front of you.

Look at the schism between Millenials and Gen Z. Millenial era media was long form, sophisticated, "good", and as a consequence Millenials are hopelessly media-brained. They contextualize EVERYTHING through the lens of some show or character or fictional screen plot. It literally built their world. They struggle to find the seam, and are hopelessly depressed.

Gen Z on the other hand has only ever known dogshit media. Ironically enough, they are more in tune with reality due to this. They know what's real, and what's dogshit. They didn't have great media that effectively captured them, their minds, warped their perception of what reality is. Their short form content tends to consist of real life videos and obviously cheap entertainment that's harder to pretend is parallel to reality. Due to that, they manage to decouple the concept of media and reality. They know it's rot. Millenials do not.

You're allowed to make arguments as to why not. Sophisticated media is arguably more insidious for the brain for the same reason that good propaganda can't be noticed. It's the things you've internalized, and didn't realize you did, that matter more than the obvious cancer in front of you. Of what good was the golden age of movies and TV if it accompanied the rapid decline?

Men were far more inspired and innovative when they had nothing but their brain, hands, a room, and nature out there.

I thought about this after being a movie nerd for a few years, and there's some truth to it. But there are some films with genuine artistic merit, and a few with "intellectual merit." But most films are kind of shit, just a way to kill two hours.

Why are you on this site then? Why are you using the internet at all? Please commit suicide and leave a note to your parents apologizing for turning out such a failure.

is this a movie or a tv show? Thought it was a web forum where people shitpost and list meta-grievances like I just made.

I'm starting to draw this conclusion because sometimes I'll sit there with my gf, we'll "waste time" on short form. She'll say she wished we watched a movie instead. But then... that's passive and lazy as well. Nothing productive is being done, short form just exposes how much of a waste of time it was. Maybe it's a good thing Hollywood dies and we remember that life can be the entertainment now instead.

you're not wrong and few here, if any, will agree with you. i love movies and certain kino shows but as time goes on their agendas become more clear, and the effect those agendas have on the people and culture around you. same goes for music. the production quality of soulful indie or live music cannot even touch the slop on radio with its subversive lyrics. we're fast approaching an advanced weimar

traveling is a gigantic pain in the ass. meeting new people is a gigantic pain in the ass and is insanely awkward and uncomfortable. if you don't like being a giga normalfaggot and going out and being extroverted then there's nothing wrong with being a homebody. not everyone's brain is hardwired to enjoy being a stereotypical normalfag. you'd think fucking 4chan of all places would understand that but this is nu 4chan after all. where everyone is desperate to conform and have the most sex with the most women to prove they're a macho manly man, and make the most money and have the best life. so embarrassing.
