Her race is specified and she is clearly white in both the official illustrations of the books approved by JK Rowling as well as in her own doodles.

Hermoinie and every other white character was never specified as being white because they were written in the early 1990s-early 2000s set in 90s England where everyone is presumed to be white unless stated otherwise. And non-white character were specified to be white. Whether it be Dean Thomas, who was explicitly stated to be black in the books by JK Rowling and he was also explicitly drawn black by her in her doodles (previously referred to as Gary until she renamed hin to Dean), or they had explicitly non-white names like Chang.

Hermoinie was obviously white, as she was written during a time and in a setting where white is the default and non-whites are the exception and have their non-whiteness pointed out whether it be in descriptions, names, or illustrations. Hermoinie is never described as non-white, Granger is an English and white name, and in all illustrations of her both by JK Rowling and approved by her she is white. She was obviously white in the books and idk why you insist on pretending she wasn’t and she isn’t being race swapped. The films could have benefited a lot from slower pacing, and having enough time to actually fit in all the weird slice of life shit in the books they didn't have time for in the movie. The pacing in some of these movies was fucking spastic.

It's not like Rangs of Powa or whatever where you know there's no way it'll be better than the original LotR trilogy, there are definite ways to make a better Harry Potter series than the original. That doesn't mean I'm actually expecting these to be better, though.
