Why was Iron Man carrying MCU?
Even though the audience lacks the intellect and self-awareness to see it, they will prefer the man behind the mask to be a grown man, very rich, very successful and standing alone, doing just as much as his real persona as his masked persona.
They think people want the alter ego to be some dorky dork or a teen, having some normal job with a boss, living in a small flat in Queens, stuff like that. Just "looking out of the little guy". But no, they always seem a bit smaller compared to Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne, even though that goes against the current "Eat the Rich" sentiment, it ends up being true over and over.
