I wanna watch a LOTR YouTube reaction but I'm too afraid to click any of the thumbnails I see when I search for it. It all just feels so disingenuous and over the top and fake.

Any recs for a decent fairly genuine one?

Galadriel was objectively one of the strongest beings outside of the undying lands.
Sauron was so spooked by her and Elrond his plan was to literally burn the rest of the west to the ground before he focused all his forces on them (especially if he doesn't have the ring).

Why?
I don't get the appeal of this shit. I think the only time I ever watched one of those was because I was down a primus rabbit hole, and it had a video titled "bassist reacts to hearing primus for the first time" and I thought it might be kind of interesting because Les Claypool is genuinely a mad scientist of the bass.

And it still doesn't justify how ridiculous that whole sequence was. At most it should have been depicted as that "bilbo baggins don't take me as some conjuror of cheap tricks"

>She lifted up her hand and from the ring that she wore there issued a great light that illumined her alone and left all else dark. She stood before Frodo seeming now tall beyond measurement, and beautiful beyond enduring, terrible and worshipful. Then she let her hand fall, and the light faded, and suddenly she laughed again, and lo! she was shrunken: a slender elf-woman, clad in simple white, whose gentle voice was soft and sad.

I'm not defending it in the hobbit, but it was fine in the lord of the rings. She doesn't get a lot of screen time, and this comes near the end of the fellowship, after you get the balrog and the loss of dumbledor you get this bit where the pace downshifts and its a long sequence in a peaceful fantasy forest.

I used to love the movies until I read the books and delve into Tolkein's legendarium. Now every time I rewatch I can't stop thinking about all of the things that were cut, moved around, lines given to other characters, mischaracterizations, plus all of the things that you can't really adapt. I wish I never read them to be honest.

Of the Three Houses of Elves, the ร‘oldor and the Vanyar spoke slightly different, though mutually intelligible, dialects of Quenya (ร‘oldorin Quenya and Vanyarin Quenya, respectively). The Vanyarin dialect was also called Quendya

It makes even less sense considering he is the grandson of Luthien, who was known as the most beautiful elf of all time (whose mother was also a Maia). Picrel is a closer representation probably to what he was meant to look like.

>Galadriel was objectively one of the strongest beings outside of the undying lands.
Yes but so is half a dozen other guys. Sauron was fucking terrified of Aragorn's magical abilities as well (he had the potential to claim the One Ring as his rightful property via inheritance and right of conquest by Isildur)
But when trying to boast how powerful a character is fanoids only attempt to misrepresent the basic facts of the published books when it comes to Galadriel, though.

There's a narrative that Galadriel is an unsung hero that isn't appreciated for her power. It's not a narrative started by 2020's corporate justice warriors for Rings of Power, it was actually started by Tolkien himself: he wrote LotR but then has pages of manuscripts where he's basically trying to justify why Galadriel is such a giga-badass even though she doesn't really ever do much.
My theory is he always had 2 types of women he was attracted to, and he was allowed to indulge idealising one of these types in classic autistic fashion by writing about Luthien and Arwen as dark haired perfect pretty princesses. But he had to suppress his fetish for blonde tomboys and as he got older it broke out more and more via his attempted rewrites for Galadriel.

>>212717396
That effect of growing to incredible height in a moment of potential claiming the one ring happens to:
>Gandalf
>Bilbo
>to an extent, Aragorn
>Galadriel
>Frodo
>Sam
>Frodo again in spectacular fashion
And yet it's not depicted with a special effect for them, only for Galadriel.

There's a difference between not including a character because it would make the story too convoluted vs using the media as a means to do a racial/gender attack on white people and men.
