It isn't kino. It is actually worse than the sequel trilogy. This is the worst of Disney Star Wars. A soulless film devoid of any characters or a plot worth caring about. Just pack as many minorities as we can while we coast off of terrible fan service for losers to clap at.

Not a single aspect of this film is inspired. Everything about this film was created by a committee. It actually was the passion project of a VFX supervisor at Lucasfilm. He had the idea during the prequel era and pitched it to Disney when they decided to do spin-offs. Didn't know much about his involvement on the actual production tho.

Solo gave Kathleen a hate boner for recastings, which is why they seem afraid to ever do it again. A shame since they could still do a film with the OT characters with new actores in the roles (set before TFA of course).

This movie wasn't bad and was better in terms of Film School 101 than any of the sequels
I would say the same about Solo
Ultimately the movie bungled two out of three plotlines - the old white guys building the superweapon was lame, the French Resistance stuff was pretty good, the Forest Whittaker shit was certainly weird enough that I didn't get bored. And as much as I love donnie yen his role and his shooty mans sidekick were retarded and needed to be cut
