Give me a reason why should I spend 50 usd to see a movie in theaters instead of watching it for free on my PC?

I live in the suburbs and a regular ticket at my town's theater is $16. Matinee only drops it to like $13. Within the last decade that's what I would pay for IMAX tickets, which are now upwards of $20. The last time I went to the local one the projector was out of focus so it's not even like you're paying for a great experience. The theater in the next town over used to be the cheapest and was the last theater in the area that didn't have assigned seats (aka extra $2 per seat to reserve in advance unless you want to be all the way in the front) but they changed owners and it's being totally gutted for new equipment so I just know it's gonna cost a ton. I end up driving to the theater that's half an hour away because they're the only one that doesn't make me feel like I'm getting screwed and even that one still pisses me off because of the people paying more to book the good seats days in advance.

feels good not living in CIA False Flagistan. Yesterday evening I paid $10 for a ticket, $5 for snacks and drinks (from the store) and just walked to the theater.
