These services don't ask for payment after the services were rendered but before, meaning you won't have a situation where you got a month of service and decided to not pay so they report it to the credit agencies as debt.

I use Privacy for online stuff though, lets me create a separate virtual credit card for every site and I can set it to "one time use" or just set a max monthly allowance so even if their shitty website gets hacked and they get all the cc info my money is safe.
Just the other day I wanted to cancel a gym subscription but I had my membership through this work program thing and that website was so ass I could not find the fucking cancel button so I just deleted the privacy card I had for that website and voila, cancellation complete.
