Did boomers really go to restaurants just to have coffee?

I realize 6 bucks is a lot to a 3rd world retard like you, but it isn't too bad. Especially if you compare it to a lot of places in europe where waiter wages are fully covered by restaurants and the cost of eating there is high enough that people just outright avoid it.

No, you're confusing diners with restaurants. Restaurants are where you go with your date or family, sit-down, and have a beautiful college waitress treat you like a king -- followed by a 20% tip. Diners are where you 'stop-by' with friends of yours, sit anywhere, and are treated more like cattle than a human. You don't order 'food-food' at a diner unless you want food poisoning. That's why you only see them order coffee and pastries; they're the safest bet.

Oh also diners are 1/4 the price of restaurants so just avoid real food at diners and you're golden.

Jerry's apartment would probably not have that kitchen island and that's just were his stove and sink would be with the right by the door and his bed would probably be where his computer is. His computer would be where his shelf is. His bathroom might be where it actually is and then his bedroom would be someone else's oddly shaped bedroom/living room

City apartments, especially in places like New York, tend to have very small kitchens and most people have roommates (often multiple). Trying to cook at home is difficult so the kitchen ends up being mostly for reheating leftover takeout food. Even though the apartments and roommate situation is the show aren't typical, the yuppy culture of the time is reflected in their dining habits.

They worked at most 2 or 3 hours a day, so they had lots of time for these things. Meet women, engage in hobbies, and so on.

All while drawing a salary that afforded them a wife, kids, 2 cars, a vacation home, a boat, and a retirement fund. Plus a company pension and a gold watch when they got tired of "working".

Hell you could say the same for most people throughout time. Without modern amenities, homes were generally one room shitholes with no semblance of privacy, infested with pests, stuffy and filled with smoke, etc. With running water, modern sewage systems, HVAC, a kitchen, and internet, most modern day westerners live more comfortably than medieval royalty
