I don't really care about his characterization outside of these movies, but the fact he agrees shows he either went through some shit or changed his mind in an "ends justify the means" sort of way. Keep in mind that Miles was never supposed to join or even be there, so him getting captured was a last-ditch ultimatum

This is a problem of the multiverse. Of course any spider man who has the opportunity to save their "uncle Ben" would, but as it's presented all the spider men lost their person so they expect Miles to just accept it, but if any of them were in the same situation they'd do the same thing Miles is doing. I am 100% certain Miles will need to make the decision to let his dad die for the greater good in the 3rd movie, because that fits very well with the spiderman ouvre. I just wish I didn't need to wait 4 years for the conclusion

I wouldn´t say it deserves any awards, specially seeing how Maquia also released in 2018 but it did have some interesting visual style that makes it stand out so it certainly deserves some credit, specially for a super hero movie. It´s also kind of fun so i can see general audiences liking it.
