Janice is mad as fuck that Tony was actually Livia’s favorite child all along. From the moment she showed up, she tried to take over caring for Livia to show she was the good daughter (and also to get the house). She couldn’t even keep the records, they were given away by Livia to Svetlana who babysat her for all of a month or two.

Janice discovers that none of her schoolwork or Barbara’s was kept, but Tony’s was. This culminates in deciding to have the ornate funeral and wake to piss on Livia’s wishes (who did not want a funeral), and to make Janice the center of attention and make everything about her. She also maybe wanted to make everyone uncomfortable and admit they couldn’t say a nice thing about Livia and drag them down to her level.

One of the smaller details I love about the Sopranos is that Carmella actually mentions the whole ("they say no two people are the same") rant Cwissy goes on while Tony is distracted outside with Artie.
She mentions it during the intervention they have for Christopher in the later seasons.
