>>212774494 (OP)why is it that this specific movie attracts this type of critique again and again and again? I'm trying to figure out why it makes people mad specifically for this reason that it's not "deep enough"
It's assumes something about the movie when you do that. It's a superficial critique based solely on the fact that its a black and white movie in a non-standard aspect ratio, that's why, right? It's black and white so it has to be pretentious.
It's such a straight forward movie, sure it lacks any real plot but the actual movie itself is very accessible because its fun, because its immersive and an actual experience as opposed to being the thing you want it to be (a pretentious movie where nothing happens)
I'm so confused by people that hate on this movie for this reason when its so easy to sit down and enjoy it. "NOOOO IT MADE A REFERENCE TO MYTHOLOGY, THAT MEANS I CANT ENJOY IT BECAUSE ITS TRYING TO BE SOMETHING ITS NOT!!! ITS PRETENTIOUS AND ITS FAILING BECAUSE ITS NOT DEEP"
Maybe you're the pretentious one for being unable to enjoy the fucking film, ever think about that?
