It's difficult, my 10 yr old likes anime, but not the same anime I do. They don't give a fuck about Miyazaki movies, they watch fucking high school volleyball anime. I'm unable to cope.

The difference between the initial beauty of the sea when Ponyo escapes and the horrific polluted, trash-filled goop when she comes near the shore really woke me up to the fact that we have to do better

Started too late, my young ones enjoy the fuck out of all the Miyazaki movies, my oldest was on a Ponyo kick for a long time and now my youngest is on a major Princess Mononoke kick. She calls it 'Ashitake' after the main character lmao

I'm less concerned because of the boys trying to impress her on Roblox. I'm more concerned that I have to have a presence on Roblox to monitor it and balance hovering with letting her chat w/friends.

Parenting is hard, and my own clearly did not give a single fuck
