The scale and success of the movie has already been determined by the bean counter's budget. That's why the leads are two actors at the beginning of their career, who've only ever appeared in pipeline media, like Disney TV series and Sundance films. They're being eased into the mainstream big screen, and the rest of their career will depend on how they perform in this low budget flick. That's the real reason they didn't cast that Hunter tranzo. Hunter's already done some small time mainstream, so she probably costs too much.
