Dexter went to shit after Doakes died. Trinity was good if not a little over the top(at the time for the show). But after Doakes everyone just acts like a colossal retard concerning Dexter and there's absolutely zero intrigue or suspense.

I liked Jimmy Smits in season 3. His apprentice arc was kino. They killed him off too early though, same with Dexter's brother and Doakes. I have no idea why the showrunners blasted through characters so fast, it made the later seasons so fucking boring when they realised they were just stuck with side characters like Batista and Quinn.
