Almost everything that’s called “Lynchian” is not even close because Lynch just threw shit at the wall out of pure instinct and inspiration and made it work. When other people do it doesn’t work usually because they don’t have his artistic instincts.

I think the bird is saying "Oedipa" as in Oedipa Maas, the protagonist of Pynchon's The Crying Of Lot 49, which this movie is blatantly heavily inspired by. I have not heard anyone come up with a better answer.

Its not amazing but if you want modern lynchian pic related is Lynchian on several levels. I watched it because the premise of a dudes gf going missing while on road trip and was moderately pleased even if the twist wasn't mind bending
