Left is definitely shittier, looks swarthy and like a bitch most of the time except forced angles Gunn stole from Snyder. That the movie is cringe, that he has arabized asshole parents, that he gets mogged by ugly cosplayers, that he has to witness his sister fucking random monkeys etc. not helping

Right destroyed a brand. Left rebuilt it. Any disagreements you see on this are from Snyderfags and JIDF.

One is a forgettable feel-good movie. The other is Excalibur with comic book characters and it's fucking amazing.

It's the only way virgins can feel in control of their lives if they feel their opinion on a pop culture movie is vindicated by somehow being slightly better than another version of the same character. It's the saddest shit.

Superman 2025 is probably going to lose money, and who knows how long it will take for anything else in the DCU to be profitable

Superman 2025 is The Force Awakens of Superman films. It's a rotten foundation artistically. It will make money, it may launch a universe, but it will in the long run damage the cultural relevance of the Superman brand, trading away impact and genuine emotional resonance for cheap nostalgia and nerd-pandering. Superman is becoming indistinguishable from the awful slop that Marvel have been dishing up since Iron Man 2.

It's better than TFA but I see your point. I don't think time will be kind to it. I can see the normie consensus shifting eventually like with TFA. The initial buzz is like a hazy spell on the masses.

Yeah I mean I like the movie but anything with synergy for build up to more sequels and tv shows people probably wonโ€™t watch immediately loses like 50% of its soul, and Iโ€™m actually looking forward to what Gunn shits out again

If it wasn't so overstuffed with other less-essential characters and world building and not-great CGI, I could kind of see what they mean.
>upbeat
>love interest who has chemistry with the main hero
>corporate villain who chews the scenery
>shows the hero saving people as much as possible
>simple message about right and wrong being obvious to us but not to the bad guys

>Superman 2025 is The Force Awakens of Superman films. It's a rotten foundation artistically.
Bullshit. I called TFA dooming the sequels the moment I stepped out of the theater. Superman is simply a way better film.

1) Superman is a full-blown reboot setting up its own canon so it's more comparable to the original ANH than TFA.

2) Superman has an original story backing it. TFA was a mcguffin chase and a shock death.

3) Superman establishes its setting better than TFA. Locations actually have a purpose beyond colorful backdrops and we return to them as it suits the story.

4) Superman, despite being the most OP and benevolent protag ever conceived, is somehow less of a Gary Stu/Mary Sue than Rey in TFA.

On the pure merits of storytelling, he actually did a better job with Star Trek than Star Wars. Probably because he doesn't give a shit about Star Trek and didn't care if he pissed off the fans.
