What was the most fucked up kill Jinx made, accidentally or on purpose? For me, it's the enforcers. She straight up baited them into thinking they were saving a trapped girl for no reason before killing them.

When I first saw Arcane I was actually amazed at how evil they let Jinx be. In season 1 she brought to mind Anton Chigurh, specifically in the sense that every time she interacted with another character there was a genuine onscreen tension that she was going to murder that person before the scene ended. There was no peace around her. This was even played for laughs with the bartender scene, where he's in terror the entire time expecting her to murder him. Funnily enough the only guy who ever seems safe around her is Silco, who of course she also murders at the end.

Season 2 outright seems to retcon that, Jinx is a quirky antihero out of the gate. I was just as amazed at how much they downplayed her as I was with how twisted they made her in the first place. The Harley Quinn comparison gets more apt too, because in her earlier appearances Harley is a real piece of shit and at some point DC just makes her stop being one to give her the hero lens.

There is an incredible tension, which is a great way to put it. You don't even know if she's going to stab Silco, and even she fucked with him by pricking him repeatedly. IMO she's an even better antagonist than Anton. Anton has almost no emotional desire to kill, and does it for a bizzare plot reason about his character. Jinx is incredibly intense in her kills.

The low stakes political stuff was always just background context to me. As a character Mel isn't very interesting, although some of the stuff with her mom is.

Also I think it would've been much more impactful of Viktor's teacher's daughter was the giant salamander thing. I thought that at first and was blown away they dared to pull something like FMA's Nina, but it was just a random animal

Arcane clearly doesn't have a protag in mind (similar to Transformers, they think it's an ensemble cast). But it's the audience and the flash of inspiration that makes X character the GOAT and becomes the de facto face of the show.

Jinx actually never has the most screen time; and even Jayce is very close in screen time to her. But she has such a massive impact you feel like she's all you can remember.
