>>212814746I risk sounding like redditor, but one thing I really like about the movies are the female characters., just shows that late 90s/early 2000s knew how to make cooler female characters than current annoying girl bosses. They both "subvert" the Bond girl trope and revel in it.
GoldenEye - Bond girl who is good at IT, but sucks at physical stuff. Her IT skills save the day, but only thanks to chaos caused by Bond.
Tommorrow Never Dies - Bond girl who is basically female bond but chinese with kung-fu. Basically two different bonds on the screen doing ying-yang (perfectly encapsulated in the motorbike chase).
World Is Not Enough - Bond girl who is actually the villain. Uses seduction to turn people to her side.
I especially like Electra and the chinese agent. I am gonna bet that the 2000 Charlie's Angels with Lucy Liu was influenced by Tomorrow never dies.
At the same time all the movies have female character that perfectly fits the bond movie tropes - in goldeneye it's Onatopp (sexy cartoony female henchman), in Tomorrow Never Dies it's the villain's wife/bond's ex and in World is Not Enough it's that big boobie lady.
