didn't they talk about this? They were isolationist and hiding from the world and I think it was some kind of inside political controversy that the Black Panther guy didn't want to keep being isolationist but some other Wakandans did.

Japan was probably the last one, but Americans forced their way in with huge ships and naval cannons. Japan refused all foreigners until America just rode up with their huge navy and started shooting up their port towns with cannons until the Japanese were forced to open up their country a gunpoint.
Any other country left that hasn't been explored has been left alone because it has no value. Like those hidden tribes in the Amazon rainforest. Or random tribes living in isolation on random islands in the pacific ocean.

North Korea is the closest I guess. They have some contact with the outside world but for the most part they are very isolationist, very few outsiders are allowed in and it's illegal for North Koreans to leave except for special reasons with government approval. They don't really have outside media or internet either.
