Dude Zelda is the main protagonist of the story in both modern Zelda games. That's normal. Link is only the main protagonist of the game because you play as him. This is even a thing they used to do occasionally in the retro series like Midna being the main hero in Twilight Princess and Zelda having the main character arc in Spirit Tracks.
