Turns out that the great cartoons of the 90s came about because you had these guys who wanted to put edgy humor in them, but the censors put limits on them and so they were constantly pushing that edge of what they could get away with in a kid's show and ended up with something timeless that adult could enjoy too. Now that they don't need to have restrictions anymore, the sort of humor that they always wanted to be doing is really really terrible.
