I’ll at least say one nice thing about it: the car chase scenes, where the camera seems attached to the wheel of the car, was neat.

He just has the most developed mythos, partially due to his age. 90% of Marvel characters just live in NYC which is fucking boring so by virtue of having Gotham he mogs them all, and because he's a street level character the writers actually had to flesh out Gotham a lot since it's where 90% of his stories take place. Superman doesn't even spend all that much time in Metropolis in a lot of his stories.

The biggest problem with this movie is the script. Matt Reeves is not adept enough as a writer to craft a compelling or engaging detective story. Also the decision to make Bruce act like an angsty teenager even though he's clearly 30+ years old was certainly a choice
