And nothing wrong with that per se, just that you have to ask: what is the audience? The budgets for these films would be fine if it was 10% what they actually spent on it.

Is this a fun romp for the whole family? It really fucking is not.

It's telling some reviewer basically said as much: who is this for? That was branded racism and he was forced to apologize. Then film came out to no audience.

The author capsulizing his childhood experiences into a separate narrative is older than the cinema. But it is wrong when it happens 3 times in a row, as it is for Pixar with TR, Elemental, and Elio.
