It’s just big sloppy pizza that you buy by the slice. It’s just more of New Yorkers blowing themselves for no discernible reason. Chicago style deep dish at least sets itself apart.

This. New York pizza is just thin, floppy, greasy shit. Buy any frozen pizza and slightly undercook it so it's doughy and bam, you have New York "style" pizza

Christ no, it's awful it's just cardboard with flour sprinkled on top.
It's only novelty is it's typically bigger and cheaper than regular pizza

It's more about the hunger New York City stimulates and the sweetness it gives each reward. A Gatorade is just a Gatorade but when it's been chilled just right and handed to you after a hard day's work where you can see the fruit of your labor and you're just on the edge of dehydrated.....boy, almighty. Something about being on the go and having things to do with a hunger in your stomach near some of the realest Italian immigrants in your country where they cook entire pizza pies just so they can sell it you by the slice for the change in your pocket. It hits. You never had a bacon egg and cheese in the morning? Does it taste better hungover after a night out handed to you out the window of a diner? You have all the ingredients at home, what's the difference? It's good pizza. Don't let people with small lives tell you life's no good.
