I understand, but 2 was retroactively made worse by 3. It had a good plot that ended up going nowhere in 3.

3 isn't a great standalone season. Pairing up 2 and 3 just makes more sense storywise. S2 set up characters that I enjoyed watching, with many of them gone by S3. Considering S3 alone, lots of the characters matter less. I enjoyed the maze a lot, but man after the old woman leaves, we aren't left with much.

The whole cop B-plot really went nowhere, and there should've been more Frontman confronts protagonist to give a more satisfactory ending imo. I really think he should've gone back for the preggo gal. Lot of it had a sense of pointlessness afterwards.

Other than the ending which was meh to me, I still enjoyed 2+3. S1 is just a great standalone tho

Script was worked on for like over a decade and fine tuned to a T. Was the writers baby and magnum opus.

>2 & 3
Hastily written continuation of the story after 1 was proven successful. Quality suffers obviously.

Just got done watching the show and I couldn't agree more. Season 3 was such a massive let down. Also who was that North Korean family at the airport at the end?

I had to google the names as they came up. They were the family of the North Korean girl from season 1.

Thanks that's what I was thinking. Her showing up in the second to last episode actually caught me by surprise but it was nice to see. Which reminds me that the frontman had that mannequin of the old guy from the first season in his closet, but I guess that's just more things that'll never get expanded upon. I don't know who to blame more for disappointing writing, Netflix or the creator of the show
