Anderson's Resident Evil movies are incredibly fun, and very distinct. They're not pandering nerdslop. They're films with vision. They have an innate sense of cool. Some will point out that he didn't direct all of them, but it's like George Lucas and Star Wars. You feel Paul's creative presence at every level of the Andersonverse movies.

But the Resident Evil games ripped off The Matrix, and he was adapting those into a film. Why was it okay when the games did it?
