Scientology is insane but the fact is he was vindicated over time. It’s clear that SSRIs, ritalin and other psych meds are overprescribed and despite the serotonin hypothesis of depression being deboonked decades ago they are still prescribed for depression because… well because that’s why. Trial and error with side effects like suicidal ideation and worsening depression/mental health should tell you this science isn’t exactly a science. Now we’re celebrating hormone therapy for kids because of how they feel and if they say the right phrases. In a century we’ll be looking back at this shit like we do lobotomies, calomel and thalidomide.

Tom was absolutely right and even if he wasn’t he shouldn’t have been vilified and ridiculed for questioning the status quo.
