It sometimes feels like some people are very resentful of things like the Snyderverse or the Andersonverse and they desperately want new movies to displace them in the public consciousness. They also seem desperate for critical approval. They're desperate for a "comic book accurate" or "game accurate" (whatever the fuck that that means) adaptation that will be "<thing> done right."
Sometimes it feels like coexistence is not really possible long term. There can be only be one, all that jazz. Speaking of which... they're rebooting Highlander. The original was directed by the guy who made Resident Evil 3, and both films were hated by critics. The reboot is inexplicably starring the lead actor from the Zack Snyder Superman movies. The wheel turns, I guess.
