Most northern european movies I've seen have that kind of vibe. Endless identical homes with tiny yards, bleak soulless grocery stores, obsession with 100% immigrant fielded "local" sports teams, the most common hobby of the obese locals is getting shitfaced at the same run down pub they've gone to since they were teenagers. It's comfy in a weird way but visually appalling.
