The show is great, yes. But the last season wasn’t that good.

The show in early seasons had this feeling of being slow, methodical, and grounded in reality. The last season simply was not. The compound final scene in particular was almost comical in the number of coincidences needed for it to work that perfectly. Yes, the Hank final moment was legendary, but it seems they couldn’t figure out what to do after that. The ending of this show is only praised cause in comparison every other show of the time had dumpster fire endings.

Feel free to call me a retard but at least make a compelling argument as to why.

Breaking Bad was always a goofy live action cartoon for adults.
>two face gus
>i am le one who knocks
>bbbb-bonfire
>machine gun in trunk killing nazis
>magnets bitch
>any scene with le 4d chessmaster gus
>it's not le meth
>the two assassin brothers

come on I love breaking bad and I agreed than 5 is by far worse than the other seasons but it always had over the top and nonsensical moments
"this is not meth" scene was cool but also capeshit tier lets be honest

season 5 only exists because of the show's immense success. Walt was never supposed to lose in the end and that's why he's the ultimate anti-hero, he's supposed to piss off the audience and still come out on top. but now that season 5 exists it's just another "lesson learned" show.

ok so part if the appeal of the show is that the writers put characters into near impossible situations to cleverly get them out it. Drama, suspense, stakes, kino.

“this is not meth” was an example of the writers backing Walt into so deep a corner that a capeshit tier move was the only thing that would get him out of it.

no. in reality walt would have been caught or killed way sooner. he has lottery winning luck to be running around his hometown as a most wanted felon. They fixed this in BCS. Saul was captured pretty much as soon as his name was mentioned.

Breaking Bad was always shaky but it really turned to shit when it hit streaming and Vince reworked everything to cater to Netflix watchers
